Red's runnin' buddies

Playing with pics, anybody got any tips?  How big (KB or PIXEL) should they be? what's a good size for nice resolution/quick loading?

Goal for tomorrow: 4 mile run

lotsa runnin' not so much stitchin'

but I DID get a WIP pic that I want to add to my header, just gotta figure out how...

Motivation tip- run on the beach! (4 miles this morning - yay me)  Lotsa visual distraction: dolphins pop up, great blue herons fish in the surf, PELICANS! <3 <3 PELICANS!!! beware of sand tho', i think i was toting about 2 extra pounds in each shoe, sanded my toenail polish straight off

new word - Cetacean
www.cetaceancruises.com check them out, awesome 2 hour dolphin & nature tour, dolphins guaranteed!

family friendly - they let the kids drive the boat on the trip home, played a cut-throat game of limbo

Hilights of our trip: dolphins (ahem) "dancing", beautiful sunset, osprey, definitely 2 thumbs up!!

Also: coral! & sting ray(s?), flocks of them! about 5 feet from me (sorry, no sting ray pics)

and henna inspired by the wildlife & turtle I think I saw :D
hello, my name is Charlyn & I'm a henna addict, I currently have a cone in my tote & some in the fridge... anybody want to hire a henna artist?

7 mile run

7 mile run yesterday - I'm running a consistent 15 minute mile (don't laugh, it's faster than laying on the couch, lol)  breathing good, legs good, feet OK: 2 blisters from sand in my shoe :(
Lesson learned:  stop & dump the sand!

have one nagging foot, what's up with that? it doesn't literally 'hurt', doesn't bother me during the run, just annoying the day or two after a long run.

Things I need to run:
1.  sunscreen
2.  distraction!  I need a dog to chase me or SOMETHING just to break up the monotony

Bald Eagle & Oatmeal

I was sitting on my little back porch this morning eating my oatmeal* & heard some freaky cawing coming from the front(?) of the house.  Craning my neck, looking for a weird new bird in the trees & a bald eagle flew across the side yard about 20' above the ground and then soared over the trees on the side yard  (For those of  you unfamiliar with my yard that put him about 100 feet away from me!)

Oh yeah:  the 4 mile run didn't happen yesterday :(   but I did get my sewing area organized enough to start a small sewing commission :)

Check out the marathon website:

  www.leoruntoremember.org

So far I've raised $35!  Thanks Dad & TXWildflower!

*Oatmeal

DISCLAIMER:  I have a really hard time eating oatmeal, it's kinda gross.  But it's (supposedly) good for you <insert eye roll>.  And before you send me notes telling me I need to eat the 'real' kind or or the steel cut or the rolled or whatever, let me say that I've tried them all and the only thing that makes oatmeal worse is having to stand over the stove stirring & smelling the mess.

Anywho, here's my recipe for making it edible & if you already LIKE oatmeal, then this oughta knock your socks off... :D

One pack instant maple & sugar
milk (to the dotted line on the pack)
handful of pecans
3 or 4 tablespoons of coconut milk

Breakin' new ground

Got a lot of new things going on here: both kids in school, got a new (old) house, got a new job, Sugar Daddy is retiring and I'm training for a half marathon.

Some things haven't changed:  still trying to make quality time for Sugar Daddy, kids, art & working out. Since I can always use a little more motivation and inspiration, I am here to share the journey & hopefully provide a little motivation and inspiration for some of ya'll.

Bear with me while I figure out what I'm doing here ;)

GOAL FOR TOMORROW:
4 mile run

What motivates you?
